Since 2006, when the Opportunity Center opened, Community Working Group has provided safe, decent, affordable homes for an estimated 400 homeless or low-income individuals.
CWG has also provided access to rehabilitative services to an estimated 600 people per year.
CWG’s work has resulted in long-term and transformative change for hundreds of Midpeninsula residents: in 2014 alone, 31 Opportunity Center drop-in clients got jobs, 21 got permanent housing, 26 were able to obtain their disability benefits, and 83 were housed in shelters. In addition, 16 resident children participated in safe and enriching after-school activities.
Meanwhile, approximately 60 families have stable, affordable homes at CWG’s other two properties, 801 Alma Family Housing and Alma Garden.
CWG has enabled hundreds of individuals to begin to build secure futures for themselves and their families.
